Playgroup activities should be something that will involve all the children and should be kept age-appropriate. Kids with good teeth grow up to be adults with good teeth. If you teach your children how to brush and floss and take them to the dentist twice a year, they’ll have strong, healthy teeth. Start applying sunscreen BEFORE you even leave the house. This is extremely important as toddler skin is very sensitive and burns easily. Taking the time to apply sunscreen beforehand ensures that you can get their whole body covered and not miss any spots. Diaper padding only goes so far. Those hard shopping cart seats can be irritating to some toddlers. Consider making or buying a shopping cart cover to keep your toddler comfortable while shopping. This will have the added benefit of preventing your toddler from being exposed to the myriad of germs that can be found on the shopping cart. At the beach, if your child is using inflatables, make sure they are being supervised. The inflatable should also be secured to the shoreline, ideally held by an adult. Remember, an inflatable can be easily blown away from the shore even with a slight breeze. Be a food role model by eating a healthy, balanced and varied diet.
